New Wordsworth Summer Conference 2007 - Grasmere, 30th July - 8th August 2007
The New Wordsworth Summer Conference Monday 30 July to Wednesday 8 August, 2007 in Grasmere, Cumbria.
A full prospectus, outlining the new conference and all the accommodation options is now available online at http://www.humanities-ebooks.co.uk/conferences.htm. The 2007 Wordsworth Conference will be shorter and more affordable, but it will offer the same unique blend of quality lectures, serious discussion time, time to think and talk, and a significant experience of Grasmere and the fells. In short, it is a conference that confers. Keynote Lecturers in 2007 are Frederick Burwick, Tim Fulford, Nick Groom, Regina Hewitt, Deborah Kennedy, Michael O'Neill, Nicholas Roe, Joseph Viscomi.
The online prospectus includes details of modestly priced accommodation, which starts at £306 for nine nights full board, and the four and five night options from £136 to £440. Online payment of registration fees has now been set up.
Contributions may take the form of papers (2750 words), twinned papers, joint or single workshops (short handout-based presentations leading into an hour or more of discussion). Papers or workshops may address any aspect of British & Comparative Romantic Studies, though papers acknowledging the bicentenary of Poems in Two Volumes would be especially timely. Proposals (250-500 words) will be considered by two members of the steering committee and should be submitted to the Convenor richardgravil@hotmail.com by 1 February 2007. Decisions will be announced by 7 March.
