The new year approaches ever closer, and at the chime of midnight on New Year’s Eve, BARS subscriptions will fall due.\u00a0 Please take a moment to read the note below from our treasurer and membership secretary, Jane Moore; for more details on becoming a BARS member or renewing an existing membership, please see the relevant page on the website<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Dear BARS members<\/p>\n

As the newly-appointed Membership Secretary and Treasurer of the Association, I\u2019d like to introduce myself to you and to thank you for your continued co-operation and support as BARS members.<\/p>\n

I\u2019d also like to remind the membership that annual subs are due on January 1st and to ask that you check your standing orders are for the correct amount of either \u00a325 (waged) or \u00a310 (unwaged\/postgraduate).\u00a0 As many of you will be aware, the BARS Executive took the decision in 2012, after consultation with the membership, to make a modest increase in subscription fees to \u00a325 (waged) and \u00a310 (unwaged\/postgraduate).\u00a0 Our aim in the longer term is to increase BARS membership, both UK and overseas.\u00a0 If you know anyone working in the field who isn\u2019t currently a member, please do invite them to join the Association or email their contact details to me at MooreJV@Cardiff.ac.uk<\/a>.\u00a0 Herewith is the web link to the BARS \u2018How to Join\u2019 page: http:\/\/www.bars.ac.uk\/join\/barsjoin.php<\/a>.<\/p>\n
