{"id":3600,"date":"2021-03-12T10:28:54","date_gmt":"2021-03-12T10:28:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.bars.ac.uk\/blog\/?p=3600"},"modified":"2021-03-12T10:28:54","modified_gmt":"2021-03-12T10:28:54","slug":"2021-keats-shelley-prize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bars.ac.uk\/blog\/?p=3600","title":{"rendered":"2021 Keats-Shelley Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Our inspiration is John Keats\u2019 epitaph which reads: \u2018Here lies one whose name was writ in water.\u2019 This year\u2019s Keats-Shelley Prizes are part of our wider KS200 programme, commemorating the deaths of John Keats on 23rd February 1821 and of PB Shelley on 8th July 1822.<br><br>As in previous years, the prize is divided into two competitions.<br><br><strong>A Poetry Prize<\/strong> \u2013 open to all \u2013 on the theme of \u2018Writ in Water\u2019.<br><br><strong>An Essay Prize<\/strong> &#8211; which we hope will be of particular interest to undergraduates and postgraduates with research interests in Romanticism.<br><br>Essays may be on any aspect of the works or lives of the Romantics and their circles. They should be no more than 3,000 words including quotations.
