Military Masculinities in the Long Nineteenth Century<\/strong> \nTo commemorate the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo and the lasting impact of the Napoleonic Wars upon the history of militarism, submissions are welcomed for \u2018Military Masculinities in the Long Nineteenth Century\u2019, an interdisciplinary conference held at the University of Hull on the 20th and 21st May 2015. We welcome papers from scholars across the humanities on the topic of nineteenth-century \u2018military\u2019 manliness. The conference will encompass a range of themes relating to notions of gender, war and empire, exploring the ways in which nineteenth-century society responded and reacted to ideas of militarism and mobilised manhood.<\/p>\n (Image used with kind permission of the Anne S.K.
