They will also share some of William and Dorothy\u2019s writing on plants, as well as look at manuscripts and books from the Wordsworth Trust\u2019s collection including the Wordsworths\u2019 copy of William Withering\u2019s\u00a0<em>An arrangement of British plants.<\/em>\u00a0This event accompanies \u2018<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/gtr.ukri.org\/projects?ref=AH%2FS007504%2F1\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Experiments in Land and Society, 1793\u20131833<\/strong><\/a>\u2019, an Arts and Humanities Research Council project that is supporting new research into the garden and historically informed enhancements to the outdoor spaces at Dove Cottage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/wordsworth.org.uk\/blog\/events\/the-wordsworths-and-gardening\/\">Tickets and details here.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Refuge from the Ravens: Wordsworth rewritten by homeless Britain<\/strong><br>8 September, 7.30pm, Online<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 1798,\u00a0<em>Lyrical Ballads<\/em>\u00a0by William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge sparked a literary revolution. Poems in everyday language told of people on the margins of society. Our new exhibition,\u00a0<em>Refuge from the Ravens: Wordsworth rewritten by homeless Britain,<\/em>\u00a0is a twenty-first century remix \u2014 new\u00a0<em>Lyrical Ballads<\/em>\u00a0made by people with experience of homelessness, and other vulnerable people, in poetry, art and song. In this online launch event Phil Davenport and Julia Grime, the project directors, will explain how the exhibition came about and share stories and creative work from the project. Professor Fiona Stafford will also introduce the original\u00a0<em>Lyrical Ballads<\/em>\u00a0and their historical context.
