The Conference aims to investigate Byron\u2019s ideas about all kinds of futurity \u2013 historical, political, personal, and spiritual, among others \u2013 as well as the place he and his works have held in culture and literature since 1824, both in Britain and overseas. Byron\u2019s long shadow touches many traditions: this Conference welcomes critical explorations of his legacy in all its transnational and interdisciplinary dimensions.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">The Organising Committee invites paper proposals of 250 words, together with a short bionote (roughly 150 words), on topics including, but not necessarily limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><br>\u2022 Byronic prophesies and\/or curses<br>\u2022 Byron and\/on Futurity<br>\u2022 Byron and\/on posterity<br>\u2022 Byron and\/on death<br>\u2022 Byron and\/on afterlife celebrity<br>\u2022 Byron on the translation\/reception\/value of his own work<br>\u2022 Byron and\/on the future of politics<br>\u2022 Byron and\/on the future of Italy<br>\u2022 Byron and\/on the future of Greece<br>\u2022 Byron and\/on the future of Europe<br>\u2022 Visions of the future in the Pisan Circle<br>\u2022 Reactions to Byron\u2019s death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">\u2022 The editing of Byron\u2019s poetry after his death<br>\u2022 Writing the Poet\u2019s lives: Byron and his biographers<br>\u2022 Byron in world literature<br>\u2022 Byronic heroes<br>\u2022 Translating Byron<br>\u2022 Anglo-Italian and Anglo-Greek Byron<br>\u2022 Byron as a cultural icon<br>\u2022 Byron in the media<br>\u2022 Byron and\/in music<br>\u2022 Byron and Tuscany<br>\u2022 Byron and Italian tourism<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\">The Committee welcomes submissions for both individual 20-minute presentations and roundtable discussions.
