BARS is solely supported by its members, whose investment in the society underpins all its work.<\/div><\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/div><noscript><style type=\"text\/css\">#soliloquy-container-142_1{opacity:1}<\/style><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>BARS&#8217; flagship events are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bars.ac.uk\/main\/index.php\/international-conference\/\">biennial international conferences<\/a>, held in odd-numbered years.\u00a0 These are the largest regular meetings of Romanticists in the United Kingdom.\u00a0 Each conference is addressed by leading figures in the field and at recent events over two hundred scholars have generally given papers.\u00a0 Recent conferences have included <em>Romantic Improvement<\/em> (University of York, 2017), <em>Romantic Imprints<\/em> (Cardiff University, 2015), <em>Romantic Imports and Exports<\/em> (University of Southampton, 2013), <em>Enlightenment, Romanticism &amp; Nation<\/em> (University of Glasgow, 2011), <em>Romantic Circulations<\/em> (Roehampton University, 2009) and <em>Emancipation, Liberation, Freedom<\/em>, organised jointly with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nassr.ca\/\">North American Society for the Study of Romanticism (NASSR)<\/a> (University of Bristol, 2007).<\/p>\n<p>The Association&#8217;s open-access review journal, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bars.ac.uk\/review\/\"><em>The BARS Review<\/em><\/a>, is published twice-yearly on the BARS website and offers comprehensive coverage of monographs, essay collections, biographies and other works that reflect the research interests of BARS members.\u00a0 Past reviews are available in the archive, and older reviews from the <em>BARS Bulletin &amp; Review<\/em>, the current review&#8217;s predecessor publication, can be accessed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bars.ac.uk\/main\/index.php\/bars-review\/\">through the <em>Bulletin<\/em> archive on this site<\/a>.\u00a0 BARS also <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bars.ac.uk\/blog\/\">publishes news on its blog<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bars.ac.uk\/exchange\/\">maintains an aggregated feed collecting posts on Romantic Studies<\/a>.\u00a0 There is an electronic mailbase for BARS members, informing them of worldwide conferences, events in the field and relevant new publications.\u00a0 The Association is also active on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/192798244079736\/\">Facebook<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BARS_official\">Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its International Conferences, BARS supports a successful series of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bars.ac.uk\/main\/index.php\/ecpg-conference\/\">biennial Early Career and Postgraduate Conferences<\/a> (held in even-numbered years), which provide a convivial environment in which postgraduate and early career scholars can give and listen to academic papers and discuss their work with contemporaries.\u00a0 BARS&#8217;
