This is the blog of the British Association for Romantic Studies (BARS), the UK’s leading national organization for promoting the study of Romanticism. Founded in 1989, BARS acts as a hub for scholarship by organising and supporting conferences, disseminating news and events, providing bursaries and prizes to early career researchers, publishing a Bulletin, and establishing links with sister organizations. It also provides a voice for the subject area both within and beyond higher education. More information on the society can be found on the main site, www.bars.ac.uk.
This blog is maintained by the society in order to share news and information about developments in the field. It is edited by Amy Wilcockson (amy.wilcockson@nottingham.ac.uk), who would be happy to hear about Romanticism-related events and from potential contributors, particularly people who would like to write conference reports or submit ideas for the On This Day series. Emily Paterson-Morgan (emily@p-m.uk.com) is an associate Blog Editor and may also answer enquiries relating to calls for papers and other bulletins for the Blog. The ongoing Five Questions interview series is curated by Matthew Sangster (matthew.sangster@glasgow.ac.uk), who would be glad to hear from people with new books or projects that they’d like to discuss. Enquiries relating to the Romantic Reimaginings Blog Series can be directed to Eleanor Bryan (ebryan@lincoln.ac.uk).
